Collecting rare early recordings on '78' records is alas a long established hobby we say alas because rare recordings now never, in our experience, turn up by accident. They have all been found by collectors over previous decades and our only source of supply is therefor from the people who know their value when selling to us. We live in diminishing hope of ever finding an unknown goldmine. This means that our prices are a simple mark-up over our purchase for individual records.

The price we pay for each record is related to the importance of the artist, the rarity of the particular recording and the condition of the record. Records are graded , photographed and described to the best of our ability. If required we can email a more detailed image of a particular recording or part thereof. We try to err on the side of caution and hope that any surprises will be pleasant ones. We aim to build confidence and hope for repeat business. Packing records for posting so that they arrive intact is not cheap but we think it is crazy to try and save small amounts of money (in relation to the price of the records) by cutting down. Naturally the more records you buy in a single transaction the cheaper the postal charges become as a percentage of the cost of the records. Please read our section on postal charges.
